TAG

Medium: Sticky Notes on Model

Size: 20x58x170 cm

This work talks about how we are constantly labelled with different tags since the day we were born. It is inspired by a chart present on Nicholas Christakis’s TED speech. In this work, sticky note is a metaphor of judgment, it shows how other people perceive me, hence represent our relationships. Sticky notes means to form a cloth on the model, which it wears everyday, just like how we wear these judgments and relations with others everyday in our life, and they become an inseparable part of our character. Through interaction, the audience feels more involved in the creation of the work, therefore they are able to connect their own experience to the theme of the work.

This work is placed in front of the door, so it is the first thing the viewers see when they walk into the exhibition room. The interactivity also encourage the viewers to think deeper into the theme of the work and the exhibition as a whole, this helps making it easier for the audience to understand the rest of the works better.
